Palm Paradise

The print that I am celebrating this week is Palm Paradise.  Palm Paradise is perhaps the print that is the most true to my initial moodboard, and the ideas that I had at the beginning of the collection.   My initial title for the collection was Heady Boudoir.  I wanted to portray both sensuality, and an exotic element to these tropical plants.  I imagined an almost Miss Hannigan like lair, with these printed scarves draping across the walls, windows, and lamps of her boudoir.  As the collection evolved so did my ideas.  I have reflected in an earlier blog post about the idea of the collection moving out of the bedroom and into the garden.  Perhaps its not so much the...

Outfit Of The Day

Styling the scarves from the Botanical Boudoir Collection into 'Outfit of the Day' has kept me busy scrambling around in my wardrobes, and has been a wonderful way to procrastinate, but now that winter is in full swing these outfits may need another update..... . . . . . . . . . . . . .

From Tulips to Righteous Raven....

I thought that I would take a look back at the development of some of my prints in the Botanical Boudoir collection, starting at the beginning with my very first design Tulips.   When I started this collection I was doing it for myself, I wanted to test myself.  The first test was with medium.  I had never successfully used acrylic paints, and consequently had a large amount of them hanging around.  The last painting I did using acrylics was sadly a gift for my unfortunate friends birthday, which haunts me to this day.  Every time I go to her house its hanging there in her living room shouting at me 'destroy', 'DESTROY'.  Its hideous in many ways, and she really...

Botanical Boudoir

Floral Cushions

Naturally I couldn't stop at just one cushion when decorating my studio.  I have a strong history with cushions in the multiples, so this was a natural progression in terms of decorating.   I looked over my recent prints and chose to produce some cushions from the collection I entered into the British Interiors emerging design talent competition.
