Watercolor Florals

This month I have been busy doing a lot of drawing.  I have designed a modern paisley print that I have named Imperial Paisley, an ikat style print using inks, and a camouflage leaf style print.  However I took a walk around the park and found these lovely flowers, so I have dabbled in a bit of watercolours.   . . .

Collection or Obsession?

What is it about somebody that makes them want more than one of something, makes them group objects together, forming collections, or more specifically why am I obsessive?  The realisation that I have an obsessive personality and life full of objects grouped into collections is a frightening on to make after 27 years of life, one where there is no escape from the multiples, and one where no escape is wanted.  Its the uncertain fear I am feeling, unsure if this is quite normal, its like the time I wandered into an empty field to take some photographs of mossy trees, only to turn around to be confronted by a herd of cows just two meters away facing me, watching me.  Cows are scary.  So is obsession....

Paid in Buttons!

I think that I may have got a little carried away with the premature but welcomed onset of spring and summer symptoms last week.  Not only was I distracted whilst shopping, straying from sensible and wearable purchases (so boring).  I found myself purchasing things that I am not going to be able to wear for a long time, a time that in this country may, and propably will, never happen.  High on what I thought to be both bargainous, and excellent shopping purchases, (as well as buying something depicting my size as two sizes smaller than reality) I decided that it was the perfect time to start making myself a collection of summer dresses.  This sudden desire for pattern drafting and...

Surfer Ladies

In the spirit of my current Polynesian inspired collection I went for my first surf of the year yesterday, at sunset, just to keep to the colour palette.  As myself and my BFF stood in the driveway about to depart in the surf-mobile we went through our checklist of top-priority pieces; underwear, hair-brush, moisturiser, face-wipes, towel (in that order) and boarded the van.  After ten minutes my BFF shouted "Your board!", no fear STILL in the van from last summer, ten minutes later I realised- fatal error, no hair tie!!  God damn.  Waxing our boards at the beach about to change, the realisation that my wetsuit was absent from the dry bag was a horrifying one...even more horrifying was our pre-departure checklist, the realisation that we...

Printed Suits...

So we are experiencing the first few warm days of the year, and true to form there are topless, tattooed, middle-aged men roaming the city and it's parks.  This (the warm weather rather than the middle aged men) has got me all excited for Spring / Summer...2013 that is! My current obsession for all things printed has infiltrated all areas of my life, and when I say all things printed I specifically mean head to toe printed seperates such as the floral suits in Adam's Spring / Summer 2012 collection (ahh...).  Using this idea as a starting point my collection will aim to capture a vintage holiday feel, sun bleached colours, polynesian style prints and a host of etnic patterns incorporated to...
